Time Out for Mom
Yipee!! This afternoon I am child-free!!
There are a million things I continually complain about not being able to do (effectively) while the kids are home - my writing, cleaning house (because they are right behind me undoing what I have just done), napping, going for a drive - and now that I have the time all I want to do is sit on the couch and stare out the window. Why? Because I can! Having a precious 3 hours of time off definitely gives me a new perspective on what my priorities are and what I actually can get done with the kids home. My decision criteria has definitely narrowed. Now I need to focus on what I absolutely can not do with the kids home. That narrows the list down to writing and staring off into space without interruption. So right after I finish writing this, guess what I’m gonna do?!
My task for my readership today is along the lines of ‘what would you do with a million dollars?’. Can you guess what it is? LOL! For those that can’t, here it is …. If you had 3 hours of uninterrupted, carefree time, what would you do with it? Make 2 lists: The first one is the long brainstorming list filled with anything that enters your head - right from getting those fillings done to losing yourself in fantasy. The second one is your ’short list’. This is where you narrow down your options to the couple of choices that you could realistically fit into your timeframe and budget - the options that you really can’t do unless you have time to yourself.
Now, pick one and the next time you have a couple of hours of quiet, uninterrupted time, DO IT!
P.S. A quick heads up: Starting this Saturday (Aug 15, 2009) I will be on Hiatus for 2 weeks as we are FINALLY going on our summer vacation. I will be posting at least once more before then, but otherwise I will not be blogging again until September 1st. More in my next post.
Until next time,
LeeAnne
